Welcome to ROSS SWANSON PHOTOGRAPHY website created as a way to share photos with family, friends, wildlife and photo enthusiasts, as well as potential customers. About
- Photographer Ross Swanson was born, raised and still resides in Anaconda, Montana close to the scenic Pintlar Wilderness and Big Hole Valley. My photos try to reflect the emotions and moment in time of the photo subjects as they appeared in front of the camera. Exploring the outdoors, with camera at the ready, presents countless opportunities for the various gifts that nature allows us to observe and enjoy.
- All wildlife photos were taken in their natural environment. A majority of the pictures were taken in Yellowstone, Teton and Glacier National Parks, and the National Bison Range. Living in the Anaconda, Montana area also provides countless photo opportunities in the surrounding Pintlar Wilderness, Big Hole and Deer Lodge Valleys, and other local wildlife hideouts. My time is spent trying to get the exposure and composition correct in the field versus manipulation of images through computer software.

I usually use Artbeat Studios for most of my photo enlargements and then have them shipped to my customers. - Photos were taken using Canon cameras (40D, 7D & 5D III, 1DX, IDXII and R5), Canon L series lens (300 mm, 600 mm, 800 mm, 100 - 400 mm. and 24-105 mm), with Gitzo/Induro tripods using Wimberly/Really Right Stuff/Induro tripod heads.
